set on the earth, and its top
touched the heavens.
And behold, angels of God were going up and
going
down on it.
And behold, Yahweh was standing beside him,
and he said, “I am Yahweh, the God of Abraham
your father, and the God of Isaac. The ground
on which you were sleeping I will give to
you and to your descendants.
Your
descendants shall be like the dust of
the earth, and you will spread
out to the west,
and to the east, and to the north and to the south.
And
all the families of the earth will be blessed
through you and through
your descendants.
Now
behold,
I am with you, and I will keep you wherever you go.
And I will
bring you to this land, for I will not
leave you until I have done what I
have promised
to you.”
Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said,
“Surely Yahweh is indeed in this place and I
did not know!”
Then he was afraid and said, “How
awesome is this place! This is nothing else than
the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!”
(Genesis 28:10-17, LEB)
Redemption
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace
who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,
I have been crucified with Christ and
I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the
body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself
for me.
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by
becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is
hung on a pole.”
For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new
covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal
inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the
sins committed under the first covenant.
I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.”
The Lord is not slow in keeping his
promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you,
not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23
Salvation
Salvation is found in no one
else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. II Corinthians 5:21
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our
weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as
we are—yet he did not sin. Hebrews 4:15
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the
unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but
made alive in the Spirit. I Peter 3:18
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not
from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can
boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
يوسف الصديق
Joseph
was more than a carpenter—as the
reading explains, he was a builder, a
man who
knew carpentry, stone masonry, and engraving.
He was a tekton. He was also an adoptive father
to Jesus, not his biological son. He also loved
Mary well.
How
do we know? Most betrothals were arranged
when the bride and groom
barely knew each other,
so they probably didn’t feel the emotional love
we
tend to think of. But the love Joseph demonstrated
was far more real.
Gordon
Luff, one of my mentors in college, gave
us a definition of love that
I’ve never forgotten,
and it has always served me well. Love, he said,
is a conscious decision to make someone else
precious to you.
How do you make someone
else precious to you? They either are or they
aren’t, right? No—you make someone precious
to you by investing in them.
And what is the most
important commodity you have? Your life, which
is
composed of a finite series of minutes.
You
make someone precious to you by investing
your time in them. You do
things for them, you
care for them, you go out of your way to make
life
easier for them. You defend them and their
reputation, you protect them,
you feed and clothe
them, if necessary. You invest your life in them.
You do these things even when your emotions
aren’t cooperating.
That’s
what Joseph did for Mary and Jesus.
We don’t know what he felt—the
Bible doesn’t
say he loved her--but he certainly demonstrated
love. The
heart tends to follow the things we
invest in, so I’m sure Joseph had
those loving
emotions once he began to do things that
proved his love
and commitment.
If
you’ve ever been called to love someone you
don’t have pleasant
emotions for (Jesus’ command
to ‘love your enemies’ comes to mind), try
investing
your time in them. Pray for them. Do nice things
for them. It
may seem impossible to defend the
reputation of someone who has wronged
you or
someone you love, but start with baby steps if
you have to.
Because Jesus told us to love them.
It
makes me a little sad to think that Joseph
wasn’t around when Jesus
began His ministry,
but then again, maybe it was merciful of God
to take
him home early. Joseph, being a man,
might have wanted to punch a few
Pharisees
along the way. So again, God’s timing is always
right.

1. 2 Chronicles 7:14 (ESV) If my
people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my

2. 2 Chronicles 30:9 (ESV) For if
you return to the Lord, your brothers and your children will find
compassion with their captors and return to this land. For the Lord your
God is gracious and merciful and will not turn away his face from you,
if you return to him.”
Joel 2:13 (ESV) And rend your

and he relents over disaster.
Ezekiel 18:32 (ESV) For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God; so turn, and live.”
Matthew 3:11 (ESV) “I baptize you

than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with
the Holy Spirit and fire.
Acts 8:22 (ESV) Repent, therefore,
of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that, if possible, the
intent of your heart may be forgiven you.
Romans 2:4 (ESV) Or do you presume
on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing
that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?
Corinthians 10:16
- The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the
blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in
the body of Christ?
as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
Acts 2:42 - And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.
Luke 22:19-20
- And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave
it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this
in remembrance of me.” And likewise the cup after they had eaten,
saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my
blood.
John 6:53-58
- Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh
of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.
Whoever
eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise
them up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real
drink.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in
them. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the
Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me.
This is the
bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but
whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”
Luke 22:19-20
- And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave
it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you.
Do this
in remembrance of me.” And likewise the cup after they had eaten,
saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my
blood.
"So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?'
or 'What shall we drink?' or "What
shall we wear?'
For the pagans run after all these things,
and your heavenly Father
knows that you need them.
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness,
and all
these things will be given to you as well.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow,
for tomorrow will worryabout itself. Each day
has enough trouble of its own."Proverbs 3:5–6
"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes,
and death shall be no more,
neither
shall there be mourning,
nor crying, nor pain anymore,
for the former things have
passed away."
And He who was seated on the throne said,
"Behold, I am making all things
new."
1. If you have faith as small as a mustard seed (Matthew 17:20)
He replied, “Because you have so little
faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed,
you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will
move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
Early in the morning, as Jesus was on his
way back to the city, he was hungry. Seeing a fig tree by the road, he
went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it,
“May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately the tree withered.
When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?” they asked.
Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you
have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the
fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself
into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive
whatever you ask for in prayer.”
“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered.
“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself
into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what
they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you,
whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and
it will be yours.”
The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”
He replied, “If you have faith as small as
a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and
planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.”
For I am not ashamed of the gospel,
because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who
believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
For by the grace given me I say to every
one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but
rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the
faith God has distributed to each of you.
My Personal Faith Journey
I have heard about faith for as long as I
can
remember. When I was a child, I went to a church
that was very formal, and that is where I first
learned what faith was. I understood
that faith
meant trusting in things we cannot see with our
own eyes.
Later, in high school, I learned something
new
about faith. I discovered that belief is not just
about going to
church on Sundays. Faith in Christ
means having a real and personal
relationship
with God through Jesus.
That truth changed everything for me. I
realized I
could put my faith in God not just once a week,
but every
single day. I could talk to Him in the
morning, at school, or even
before I went to bed.
Little by little, I began to see that faith can
guide me moment by moment.
This made my walk with God come alive, and
it
gave me new hope and joy. I put together these
Bible verses about faith to help you understand
what it means to believe, follow and serve
Jesus.
